Cavaliers are known for their extremely sweet disposition. They are also known for their anxiety. Law has decided that he needs to be with a human most of the time. This can be addressed in a few ways; his adopting family can be okay with it & be with him the majority of the time. They can enroll in training courses that specifically address separation anxiety. Or, if the right family sees this post, they can apply to adopt & utilize their knowledge to give Law the home & attention he needs.
Law doesn't need another furry friend in the home, he is perfectly fine hanging with the humans. He likes to "talk", and if you listen & recognize him, he will settle down. He just gets so excited to see people, he doesn't really know what to do with himself. So as you can image, he gets very exited when going bye bye in the car. Therefore, he does do lots of talking in the beginning of the ride.
Now let's talk about all the things that Law excels in!
Leash walking! He looooooooves to go for walks, long walks. He does pull a bit but is very good at it and greets every person he sees. We won't require a fence, but please know that allowing Law to run a safely enclosed physical fence is a good exercise for his energy burn-off.
House trained! Law is house trained & doesn't mark. Please know that a change in routine sometimes triggers a need to re-train, so please be prepared to have a plan in place to help him be successful with this transition.
He knows basic commands. One of the most important ones is 'sit'. Because he loves humans so much, his first reaction when he sees people is to throw his paws around them. This can pose a risk for small children or adults who have balance issues. It is very important to continue practicing the 'sit' & 'off' commands with Law.
Law's foster mom calls him ".....Boisterous, loving, cuddly, energetic, & velcro.....". Law really is a sweet boy, exactly what you would expect with a Cavalier.
Let us know if you are ready for a permanent sidekick!
