About Gwyneth:
Gwyneth is a 5-year-old Yorkshire Terrier whose life is just beginning.
After spending her past life as a breeding dog, she's learning what it means to simply be a cherished family member. Everything is new to her, and while she's understandably shy and timid at first, each day she grows a little braver.
Once Gwyneth realizes she's safe, her sweetheart begins to emerge. She has learned to trust her foster mom and now enjoys gentle pets and affection on her own terms. One of her favorite things is curling up in bed beside her foster mom at night, where she sleeps peacefully, feeling safe and loved.
Outside is where Gwyneth truly comes alive. She loves to run and play in a secure, physically fenced yard, stretching her little legs, exploring, and soaking up the warm sunshine. Seeing her experience, the simple joys she missed for so many years, is incredibly rewarding.
Because Gwyneth is small and timid, she must have a secure physical fenced yard so she can enjoy the outside and do her business safely. An aluminum or slat type fencing will need a gap filler around the bottom half so she can’t get through, something like galvanized wire, mesh or another sturdy type of material.
Gwyneth also takes great comfort in the company of other dogs. She must have another dog of similar size already in the home to help her continue building confidence and show her that the world is full of good things. She watches her canine friends for reassurance and blossoms with their support.
Gwyneth isn't the dog who will run up to greet strangers on day one. She needs a patient family willing to let her move at her own pace, celebrate every small milestone, and understand that trust is earned through kindness and consistency. The family who gives her that gift will be rewarded with the quiet, unwavering love of a dog who has finally discovered what it means to belong.
If you have a calm home, another small dog, a secure physical fenced yard, and a heart big enough to help a former breeding girl write her happy ending, Gwyneth is waiting to meet you.
Sometimes the dogs who have known the least love have the most love to give. Gwyneth is ready for her forever family.
