Since we are 100% foster-based rescue, only approved applicants will be contacted to set up a meet and greet. Applications can be found on our website at gateway4paws.org. We do not allow shipping and do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for meet and greet.

When her human became unable to care for themselves, they decided the best thing for Cersei was to let her come to rescue. 

One thing was very clear the moment she arrived- she is a diva. Cersei expects to be the center of attention, and if she isn’t getting it, she will let you know. She isn’t a big barker, but she will let you know if she needs more attention. 

Her new backyard needs to be securely physically fenced in. She was never trained to walk on a leash, so as an adult, this will be a task her new family may want to tackle a bit on down the road. Cersei will need her fenced yard to continue working on her potty training, as well. She wasn’t trained when she came into rescue, so we have been diligently working on it during her time with us. Her new family will need to be prepared to continue this training.  

Cersei has a few favorites. She loves sleeping in the big bed & she loves to be on her human’s lap. Big dogs scare her, a housemate bigger than 20lbs would simply be too scary for her. She would actually be just fine as an only dog. She doesn’t really see the need to share her human.
